                This book is about a young girl named Francie and her family. They are poor and struggling to survive in Brooklyn in the early 1900's. Francie's father is a singing waitress and spends all his tips on drinks. He is always drunk. Although her mother is a janitor, she is hard-working and smart. Their family was strong and together until Francie's father died. everything went downhill from there.
                If you like books that teach you something, is about daily struggles, and is inspiring, then this book is perfect for you. This book is all about childhood struggles and family relations and a lot of people can relate to this book.
